Services for students with Disabilities is a program within the Office of Student Services in coordination with UTMB Human Resources and the Student Affairs offices of the four UTMB schools: Medicine, Nursing, Health Professions and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Why we are here:
By law all students with disabilities are guaranteed a learning environment that provides reasonable accommodation of their disability. The rights of students with disabilities are protected under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 which are civil rights provisions aimed at ending discrimination against persons with disabilities.
Mission Statement:
The University of Texas Medical Branch and the Office of Student Services in coordination with the Office of Diversity and International Affairs and the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences are committed to providing a supportive and challenging environment for students with disabilities who choose to attend UTMB.
