Earth Day 2008 - Texas Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup

Each year UTMB volunteers adopt a Galveston beach to clean as a part of its annual Earth Day project in conjunction with The Texas General Land Office’s Adopt-A-Beach program.

UTMB’s next beach clean up is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

The 2008 UTMB Beach Cleanup Team will be responsible for cleaning the beach at Big Reef Beach which is located on the east end of Galveston Island. The focus will be on cleaning the dunes and lagoons in the park. Volunteers are asked to inventory items cleaned to help the Texas General Land Office track the type of trash cleaned along the Texas coast.

If you would like to be a part of our 2008 UTMB team, please contact Michelle Nelson via email at mhnelson@utmb.edu.
