Earth Day 2008 - Children’s Artwork

Children's Conservation Art Contest 2007

This year's theme "Conserving Resources Today For a Healthy Tomorrow".  Artist's were asked to depict environmentally friendly ways to help conserve the earth's natural resources.  For the 2007 contest there were 91 entries representing 8 schools plus 9 home schooled students.  This year's winning entry was submitted by Mary Catherine Schaaf, age 14, from Weis Middle School in Galveston.  The winner's artwork will be displayed on campus and will appear on official UTMB Earth Day 2007 t-shirts, posters, and other promotional items.  The winner of the contest, along with their classmates, will be official guests of the Earth Day committee at the 15th annual UTMB Earth Day celebration April 27, 2007.
