New recycling bags meet compliance guidelinesIn order for UTMB to comply with HIPAA while keeping its commitment to recycling paper, Facilities Operations and Management (FOAM) has redesigned the campus recycling bags. The new bags are double-zipped and locked with a plastic padlock so that patient information may be safely recycled, even in bins located in high-traffic areas. Logistics Supply Management will provide the bags and the locks at no cost to departments. Request Item No. 61247 for locks and Item No. 61244 for bags. There is a limit of 20 bags per order. FOAM asks that departments fill bags with less than 40 pounds of paper so they will be easy to move.
