Description:
The Home Visit Program is organized by the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the School of Health Professions. Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Respiratory Care, Physician Assistant, Medical, and Clinical Lab Science students visit families of diverse backgrounds in their homes to interview family members, obtain family perspectives on the roles of health care, and relate experiences from other student participants. Each discipline shares their approach to assessing and reporting their findings.  The Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy students, in the context of their individual courses in the school of Health Professions, submit an environmental assessment related to the goals of their course.

Description:
This course is offered over a period from September to April to all students in the four schools. The course is the core, anchor course for the Global Health Training Program, and is the first step in developing a campus-wide, integrated Global Health Program for all students. An interprofessional group of faculty representing the School of Health Professions, the School of Nursing, the School of Medicine, and the Graduate School in Biomedical Sciences is led by Dr. Alexandra Nolen. The curriculum provides an overview of critical issues in understanding global health challenges in contemporary society within an interprofessional learning environment.

Description:
This nationally recognized interprofessional module brings together large and small groups of Nursing, Medical, and Health Profession students to discuss issues related to spirituality in healthcare. A variety of cases bring the students together to consider the spiritual needs of patients from their unique professional perspectives. In addition, the concept of spiritual self-care is introduced with a link to a module in the online course syllabus. Students are encouraged to explore the module and tend to their own emotional and spiritual health in order to better assess and meet the needs of their patients. An interprofessional group of faculty representing the School of Health Professions, the School of Nursing, and the School of Medicine facilitate the course interactions.

Description:
Interprofessional Education Day will focus on student team building and simulated exercises for various student participants from each school. Faculty members, from each school, are encouraged to be represented to promote an environment of interprofessional teaching and coaching.
