Corporate Liaison Office

The NIH Roadmap for research establishes a premium on translating research findings into practice. UTMB has responded to this new paradigm by forming an Corporate Liaison Office within the Center for Technology Development. The Corporate Liaison Office is focused on establishing collaborations and partnerships between its faculty and the for-profit sector. The objective of this collaboration is to encourage the continued commercial development of research leads into the products needed to help improve the practice of medicine. The Corporate Liaison Office will:

• Work with faculty to identify partnership grant opportunities, and assist in preparing submissions.
• Identify and enlist corporate partners to aid in the practical development of research findings.
• Encourage economic development activities within the Galveston/Houston area by assisting in the formation of new companies, and helping to attract other companies to the region.
