Named for Dr. E. Burke Evans, who served as chief of
orthopaedics at UTMB from 1965 to 1992, the plaza commemorates Dr. Evans’ more
than 40 years of service to the university. Dedicated in 1993, the garden-like
area is planted with seasonal flowers to honor Dr. Evans’ “dedication to the
provision and preservation of beauty” on the UTMB campus.
