John A. Craig, M.D. ’68

John A. Craig, M.D. '68Dr. Craig is a highly respected ophthalmologist as well as a nationally and internationally recognized medical illustrator. He did his residency at UTMB, was a faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine, and was in private practice in Austin. Since residency, Dr. Craig has also maintained a successful affiliation with CIBA-Geigy Pharmaceutical Company, where he was director of medical illustration and continues to serve as the editor of CIBA Clinical Symposia. He embodies the highest standards in the practice of medicine and has served as an inspiration and role model to students, resident and fellows.

William H. Hadnott, M.D. ’57
San Antonio, Texas

William H. Hadnot, M.D. '57Dr. Hadnott’s professional achievements and innovative contributions to anesthesiology are well known. He has been in private practice and a clinical instructor in anesthesia at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for over thirty years. He has skillfully trained the majority of anesthesiologists now practicing in San Antonio. Dr. Hadnott has also faithfully served UTMB since 1975 as a member of the president’s Alumni Advisory Committee for Minority Affairs, the Development Board, the President’s Cabinet, the School of Medicine Alumni Association Board of Trustees and its Diversity in Medical Education committee.

Fernando A. Guerra, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP ’64

Fernando A. Guerra, M.D., M.H.P., FAAP '64Dr. Guerra is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. Along with maintaining a pediatric practice, he has been the director of health at the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District since 1987 and an adjunct professor in public health at the Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine since 2001. Dr. Guerra has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the UTMB Pediatric Alumni Foundation Distinguished Alumnus award. He has devoted his life to outstanding leadership in well over 50 community and professional organizations throughout his career.

Robert H. Stewart, M.D., FACS  ’64
Houston, Texas

Robert H. Stewart, M.D., FACS '64Dr. Stewart is board certified in ophthalmology. He was instrumental in founding Houston Eye Associates, where he has practiced for over 35 years. Dr. Stewart is also director of the Connor Glaucoma Center, which he established. He is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at UTMB and a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Dr. Stewart has the reputation as an exceptional clinician and is a frequent invited speaker at symposia. He has published more than 80 papers in scientific journals and has been the recipient of numerous distinguished service awards.
