Renowned neurosurgeon, author and philanthropist Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. was the principal speaker at UTMB's School of Medicine commencement on Saturday, June 2. A total of 197 students received medical degrees. UTMB has graduated one of the most diverse medical school classes in its 117-year history, with about 21 percent minority graduates.
