Dr. Tristi Muir

Tristi Muir
Dr. Tristi Muir is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Director of Urogynecology. She received her medical degree from Mayo Medical School in 1993. Dr. Muir completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center, Scott and White Hospital. She then completed a 3-year fellowship in urogynecology and reconstructive surgery at The Cleveland Clinic. Concurrently, Dr. Muir received fellowship training in advanced laparoscopy. Dr. Muir is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She was elected to the AOA Medical Honor Society in 1997.

Tristi Muir left San Antonio, Texas and the United States Air Force as Lt. Colonel in 2005, to join the staff of Texas A&M Health Science Center, Scott and White Hospital. She became the director of urogyencology and reconstructive surgery. She was instrumental in the creation of a 3-year urogynecology and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Scott and White Hospital. She joined the staff of UTMB in 2008.

Dr. Muir speaks at national meetings on topics relating to the challenges faced in urogynecology and gynecology. She has presented her research nationally and internationally at meetings. She has received the Faculty Teacher of the Year and Resident Teacher of the Year awards. Dr. Muir is passionate about broadening the scope of options available to treat urinary and fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Most importantly, she is excited educating women about their gynecologic health and providing them with options.
