Women’s Specialty Care wouldn’t be complete without a team dedicated to the screening and follow-up oversight of patients with both malignant and premalignant abnormalities of the genital tract. Although active treatment of invasive cancer is beyond the scope of our facility, and best treated at a cancer center such as UTMB’s University Cancer Center; we do provide services to patients that include initial evaluation of a patient with cancer, second opinions, and continued follow-up after cancer treatment.

In addition, a special focus of our group is the evaluation and treatment of patients with abnormal Pap tests and other abnormal screening tests suggesting pre-malignant disease. Additional diagnostic services, including colposcopy, cryotherapy, and loop diathermy (LEEP) are available.
