Application Instructions

Applicant Criteria:  To qualify for Work School support an individual must be a UTMB employee for six months to one year and have satisfactory performance (no 0's or 1's on the annual performance evaluation).  There are specific criteria for each degree program.  Consult the application form for more specific information.  Degrees supported must qualify an employee for hard to fill positions at UTMB.

The employee must get written support from their work manager.  An approval form will also be submitted to the Department Head by the Work School Office.  A copy of the most recent annual performance appraisal is required with the application.

Applications

 The application and all other documentation required must be submitted by the deadline indicated on the application form.  The deadlines are different for each semester.  All deadlines are printed on the application forms.

If the application is approved for acceptance, a letter of acceptance and Work School Registration Form are mailed to the applicant.  The Registration Form  must be signed by the applicant's work manager.  This form generates the letters that will serve as payment of in-state tuition, books and fees. The signed Registration Form must be returned to the Work School Office before letters approving payments or administrative leave time can be given to the employee.

Each semester, the Registration Form is required and must be signed by the participant's work manager.  This will generate the letters approving payments and administrative leave for each semester. Participants must provide transcripts showing grades at the end of each semester.
