Dr. Rafic Berbarie graduated from UTMB medical school in 2001 and then went on to do residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining the cardiology division at UTMB in 2013, he worked in a large singe specialty cardiology practice in Dallas at Baylor where he was also clinical assistant professor for visiting medical students from Texas A & M Medical School.  While at Baylor, he was also the Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation where his interests focused on cardiac rehabilitation of industrial athletes such as firefighters and police officers who had suffered myocardial infarctions and had undergone revascularization procedures.  His interests in his cardiology practice at UTMB include non invasive cardiac imaging, cardiac disease risk factor management, medical teaching, and all areas of general cardiology, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, and arrhythmias.  He sees patients at University Cardiology Clinic in Texas City and in the Victory Lakes Medical Specialty Center in League City.
