 as been a period of major healthcare reforms in Mexico. In 2004\, Mexico l
 aunched a public health insurance program\, Seguro Popular\, that provided
  health insurance coverage to nearly 54 million previously uninsured indiv
 iduals. In January\n    2020\, Seguro Popular was dismantled and replaced 
 with the Health Institute for Welfare (Instituto de Salud para el Bienesta
 r &ndash\; INSABI). This talk will present evidence from ongoing research 
 using the Mexican Health and Aging Study of how these\n    reforms have in
 fluenced population-level trends in the healthcare utilization of middle-a
 ged and older adults in Mexico.Brian Downer\, PhD is an Associate Professo
 r in the Department of Population Health and Health Disparities. He is a g
 erontologist with expertise using data from diverse\, population-based coh
 ort studies of aging to study population health and aging. He\n    is espe
 cially interested in studying the differences in the healthcare utilizatio
 n of older adults with and without dementia.
