    Dr. Alzweri is a well respected clinician-educator and leader.  He has clinical expertise in most      aspects of urology, and has a relentless commitment to people, patients, and UTMB.  Dr. Alzweri is a thought leader in his field, and holds various leadership positions in a variety of organizations.  He has recently taken on additional leadership roles during the pandemic centered on improving the care of UTMB patients.  He exemplifies this award and is the future of UTMB.

Clinician of the Month - September 2021

Premal Patel, MD, MSc, FACP


Dr. Patel promotes a patient-centered environment of care that is mindful of cultural humility. She is a very respected clinician-educator and is accredited through the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV specialist. Her clinical work is highly regarded and has been acknowledged by her appointment as a scholar in the John P McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine. Dr. Patel is very active in medical education and has taken many key leadership roles in advancing the educational platform for all learners both locally and throughout the community. She is the Associate Director of the Center for Global Health Education, co-coordinator of the Global Health Interprofessional Core Course,  holds leadership in SCOPE and TEAM, and co-created the SOM course for MSI called META.
