Dr. Morsy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology at the UTMB .  He completed medical school at Alexandria University School of Medicine, Egypt. His internal medicine residency training and cardiology fellowship were obtained from Western Pennsylvania Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, CT Angiography, Lipid and Metabolism, Hypertension specialist certificate and vascular medicine.

He received the "Jose Esquivel Avila, MD" best teaching award from division of cardiology in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 and the "William McCarron, MD" award for highest productivity in 2013. He also received the department of Internal Medicine Excellence in Teaching award in 2014 and Family Medicine in 2015. His primary areas of interest in cardiology include heart failure, cardiac imaging, and preventative medicine.

In 2015 Dr. Morsy was selected as an honorary membership to the UTMB-TX chapter for the Alpha Omega Alpha and received the John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award. Dr. Morsy was inducted into the Academy of Master Teachers in 2015.
