Integrative Bioinformatics in SUDsT32 Training Program

Substance misuse and SUDs are rooted in adaptations that lead to compulsive craving, drug-seeking and drug-taking, but drugs are delivered to the entire body, and their impact contributes significantly to the burden of health problems in our country. Faculty harnesses bioinformatics strategies to integrate across datasets towards biosignatures of SUDs in rodent and human populations. This provides mentees with the grounding in key transferable skills, including machine learning, biostatistics and innovative thinking to make SUD researchers competitive in these arenas.

  • Phenotypic biobehavioral markers of SUDs (Cunningham, Gelman, Golovko, Houghton, Kuo, Routh, Spratt, Wu)
  • Therapeutic targets identified by multidimensional analysis of molecular physiology and behavior (Cisneros, Golovko, Kuo, Laezza, La, Limon, Routh, Spratt)
  • Transcriptomics and epigenetics in SUD-related disorders (Ameredes, Anastasio, Gelman, Golovko, Green, Wu)
  • Computational strategies for brain network control (Anastasio, Hommel, Golovko, Houghton)
