MISSION
STATEMENT: To encourage teaching excellence through a program targeted to and tailored for the specific needs of individual faculty, and to nurture and cultivate these faculty to become the next generation of academic educators.
- The program links a faculty member wishing to further develop a career in medical education with a colleague in the Academy of Master Teachers who will serve as mentor

Join Scholars in Education
Scholars in Education is a 20-month faculty development program with a 24-year history of connecting, cultivating, and inspiring. What to expect:
- Monthly, 3-hour active learning workshops on the second Tuesday evening of each month
- Topics include: conducting educational research, innovative curriculum design, and teaching methods that work
- Microlearning and distributed practice between sessions to reinforce retention of learning
- Community of practice where you connect & build relationships with your academic peers at UTMB
- Completion of mentored capstone project to be disseminated among academic community
