- Office of Educational Development - The Office of Educational Development supports the School of Medicine's educational mission. The OED contains programs and information offered to all UTMB schools. This includes the Teaching Skills Series, Facilitator Workshops, Scholars in Education Program, Education Research Sessions, Consultation, and more!
- Scholars in Education Program - The Scholars in Education Program is an 20-month program for faculty in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Health Professions and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences who wish to enhance their skills as educators.

- UTMB iQuality Results - (must be on UTMB campus network or VPN) - At UTMB, we want to deliver our most current data results directly to our team members so we know where we are doing well and in what areas we need to improve. - Women Faculty Peer Mentoring Circle - The Women's Faculty Peer Mentoring Circle started in 2011 and grew out of monthly lunch meetings between four faculty involved in Infectious Disease Research. The Mentoring Circle is based on the model described in the book "Every Other Thursday: Stories and Strategies from Successful Women Scientists" by Ellen Daniell. This model is used by organizations and university's globally to develop peer mentoring programs. During the monthly meetings topic are selected from a list of career development priorities such as promotion and tenure. The meetings are a systematic way for faculty to network and to understand their trajectory. Senior faculty are invited to participate. The group currently has twelve members, including two full professors who serve in an advisory role.

- Teaching Skills Series - The Teaching Skills Series is dedicated to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching and learning. The Teaching Skills Series consist of one hour workshops which focus on a specific topic related to teaching and learning. The workshops are open to anyone in the university wishing to learn or to enhance their teaching skills. The goal of the series is to build a community of faculty and staff who develop, improve and integrate the creative and effective use of appropriate pedagogy and technologies to enhance student learning.

- Scholars in Healing Program (PDF) - The Scholars in Healing Program is a new, unique, and completely voluntary program designed to help clinical faculty members reconnect with their sense of purpose as physicians and to strengthen their ability to help patients in the healing process.

- UTMB Faculty Senate - The Faculty Senate is an open forum and welcomes all faculty members to attend.
- The Physician Leadership Academy - The UTMB Health Leadership Academy was developed to prepare physician leaders to deal with the many factors that are converging to create "the perfect storm" for physician leaders such as increased oversight by government, increased emphasis on patient-centered care, accountability, transparency, and outcomes; decreased reimbursement from payers and increased competition for health care delivery. The Academy is coordinated by Human Resources in partnership with the University of Houston Clear Lake (UHCL) School of Business. Upon successful completion of the requirements of the Academy, participants will receive a management certificate from UHCL.

- Grants for Lunch - The Grants for Lunch program was originated for the purpose of developing the grantsmanship skills of UTMB faculty and fellows, and to promote networking within the research community. Grants for Lunch occur monthly on the first Tuesday. The informal and interactive discussions cover grant writing and research program management with a primary focus on NIH funding. These sessions are led by experienced research faculty and research administrators, who make a short presentation on the given topic, then open the session for questions and answers.

- The Institute for Translational Sciences (ITS), ITS Career Development Program - The ITS Career Development Program supports translational scholars and offers the Translational Research Scholars Program (TRSP) for ITS and other UTMB junior faculty who are early stage investigators. This program provides a coherent and theoretically grounded education on translational research to trainees at multiple levels, from predoctoral trainees to faculty. TRSP is a series of biweekly sessions about ongoing research and career development that is used by the CTSA/ITS KL2 program as well as several other K12 programs on campus. K12 programs are required to have such sessions, so this is a combined effort organized by the ITS. TRSP has no funding for participants, and their support comes from the KL2 or other K12. The KL2 presently has four slots at seventy-five percent salary (two supported by the CTSA and two by institutional matching funds.) Anyone can apply to TRSP, if they have a mentor and protected time to prepare their first grant. This program prepares scientists to become independent investigators and improve the understanding of disease mechanisms, prevention and treatment.

The Research Resources Blog - provides current funding opportunities, news for researchers on and off campus, NIH updates and other relevant information for researchers.
Research Education Website - Updates, reminders & new courses are communicated via the Research Listserv (an email notice that sends personalized notices to faculty regarding funding opportunities) and the UTMB Daily Announcements. Also on the Research Education website: (http://research.utmb.edu/Education/programs.aspx) are the various available training sessions. New faculty can obtain information on the "Preparing for Proposals and Publications" and "Sponsored Programs 101" programs. These are offered every fall and spring. Another useful tool is the Education and Training calendar (https://my.utmb.edu/PStraining) that includes what is being offered on campus every month. For example, every third Wednesday of each month the Sponsored Programs Hot Topics is presented, and every 1st Tuesday of each month from 12-1pm the Grants for Lunch is presented. The calendar lists the topic for each session.
