  • Plans and strategies that you need to consider to retire without financial struggles
  • Companies and advisors to help you supplement your retirement plan
  • Activities that can be considered in preparation for the transition to retired faculty
  • What to know if you are age 55 and up, with more than 10 years of service to UTMB

Call for Nominations: Shine Academy

The annual application process for election to the University of Texas Kenneth I. Shine, MD, Academy of Health Science Education is now open. Accomplished education-focused faculty in all four UTMB schools are encouraged to review the information at the link below.

Deadline for applications and supporting material is June 21, 2019.

Application form

Every application for membership submitted by an officially nominated candidate will include in this order:
1) Completed candidate for membership form 
2) A 5-page NIH-equivalent Curriculum Vitae
3) Three (3) letters of support, as follows:
  • One (1) official letter of nomination (include examples of candidate’s educational expertise)
  • One (1) peer letter of support (include details about candidate’s educational expertise. Can be from faculty at the home or other institution)
  • One (1) learner letter of support (explain how the learner benefited from the educational expertise of the candidate)
