Dear colleagues,

We have lots of great news to celebrate this summer. I am pleased to shine the spotlight on the many recent achievements by our faculty, staff, and students!

AAMC StandPoint faculty and staff satisfaction surveys, conducted earlier this year, have provided us with some very valuable insights. Of note, the survey reflects high overall satisfaction with UTMB among both faculty and staff. This should be a great point of pride for our institution. While the survey has identified opportunities for improvement, we are also very pleased to learn about the many things that are working well. Stay tuned for more survey response updates.

We also received the results of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness’s annual student satisfaction survey, which as well reflected high rates of satisfaction among students across all schools. Kudos to you, UTMB faculty, who are critical to ensure we provide an excellent educational experience for our students!

I also extend my sincerest congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Lifetime Achievement and Faculty Excellence Awards! They are highlighted in this edition, and we will recognize them at the Second Annual Faculty Recognition Reception on Sept. 4. I hope to see a great turnout from faculty across UTMB, not only to celebrate these remarkable honorees but to honor all the achievements of our faculty in FY25.
