On Saturday, May 30th, 2026 The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston John Sealy School of Medicine Commencement Ceremony was held at Moody Gardens Convention Center at 1 Hope Blvd, Galveston, TX. Family Medicine & Community Health faculty member, Jennifer R. Raley, MD was honored to administer the Physician's Oath to the members of the Class of 2026, as they affirmed their commitment to the ethical practice of medicine and the responsibilities of the profession. Also in attendance were faculty members Barbara Thompson, MD; Samuel Mathis, MD, MPH, MBA, CPE; and former alumni and faculty member Juliet McKee, MD.
Dr. Raley is a Clinical Professor, Family Medicine & Community Health Director of the Medical Student Education Program, Clerkship Director and Faculty Advisor for the award winning Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) at UTMB.
Two of the FMIG graduates were nominated for the Golden Headed Cane Award - Noah Bowman and Elysse Reyes.
Other notable student recognitions for students who matched into Family Medicine are as follows:
