A Personal Note from Dr. Song
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I went to UT Austin for undergrad and Texas Tech for medical school. I have found a friendly supportive environment for medical school at UTMB. Integrative Medicine and Behavioral Medicine are two of UTMB’s strengths, and they play a key part of becoming an effective primary care physician. Preventative care is a very large part of family medicine and UTMB improves my ability to effectively encourage positive life changes with my understanding of barriers to health care. My cultural background, experience, and work with diverse populations allows me to understand and use motivational interviewing to counsel individuals from different cultures effectively with reasons that they can identify with here at UTMB.
