A Personal Note from Dr. Fleeks
Coming from a small town in east Texas, I grew up learning the importance and impact of family early on. How having a support system whom you knew you could count on at any moment, could drastically alter one’s life. It is my aim to emphasize this aspect of family medicine. To become a part of the family, and not just the physician. While in medical school at UTMB, I was able to work with family medicine faculty that not only emphasized this but really focused in on the patient as a whole. This really piqued my interest, not only in the program but into the way medicine is practiced in general. In the future, I aim to combine my interest in preventative care, integrative medicine, and sports medicine in a way that allows me to maximize the quality of life of those I have the opportunity to meet.
In my spare time, I enjoy weightlifting, recreational sports, and exploring the wilderness!
