Dragon Copilot (formerly known as DAX) is now available for Android users through the Epic Haiku mobile application, allowing providers to conduct a nearly hands-free outpatient and inpatient encounter where the conversation is captured and converted into a draft note ready for review, with orders prepared for signature (ambulatory only, for now).
Getting Started
- Step 1 – Set up Epic Haiku
- Step 2 – Update your template
- Add the following SmartPhrases to your template so the AI can populate these sections after the recording is completed.

- Step 3 – Start Dragon Copilot during the encounter
- Open the patient encounter in Epic
- Select Visit Recorder in Haiku (1)
- Tap the record button to begin recording (2)
- Verbal consent is required before recording every encounter
- Dragon Copilot can now capture orders from your preferred order list during the encounter. See video below for a brief demonstration.
- If you and the patient speak Spanish, tap the gear icon (3) and select Spanish (United States) (4)
- The conversation may occur in Spanish while the note is generated in English.
