BLHU-4003 Clinical English/Spanish Interactive Language Exchange Course UTMB & UDEM on June 20, 2022
Dr. Norma Pérez Raifaisen, in partnership with the University of Monterrey, will host the start of their new elective, BLHU-4003 Clinical English/Spanish Interactive Language Exchange Course UTMB & UDEM on June 20, 2022. The course will take place across the academic year through virtual discussions with the binational faculty, case studies, and article discussions in English and Spanish. Dr. Pérez Raifaisen and Dr. Enrique Adrián Martínez Cervantes have invested considerable time in developing the course and securing the permissions and approvals of both institutions for inclusion in their respective curriculums.

Mexico and the United States, due to their proximity, have shared a binational population which has had an impact on the large area of opportunities in the educational field, sharing and intertwining knowledge regarding the health services that each of them has. The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and the University of Monterrey (UDEM), with the purpose of providing an innovative approach that fosters the academic growth of students in health sciences, have created a program based on online sessions so that both populations of students have a space in which they have the opportunity to develop skills in clinical judgment, through a bilingual understanding, thus achieving greater growth in clinical practice.
Curso de intercambio lingüístico interactivo inglés/español UTMB & UDEM
México y Estados Unidos, debido a su proximidad, han compartido una población binacional lo cual ha tenido un impacto en la gran área de oportunidades en el campo educativo, compartiendo y entrelazando conocimientos respecto a los servicios de salud que cada uno de éstos cuenta. La University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) y la Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), con el propósito de proporcionar un enfoque innovador que fomente el crecimiento académico de los alumnos en ciencias de la salud, han creado un programa basado en sesiones en línea para que ambas poblaciones de alumnos tengan un espacio en el cual tienen la oportunidad de desarrollar habilidades en el juicio clínico, a través de una comprensión bilingüe, logrando así un mayor crecimiento en la práctica clínica.
