Laboratory Services recently received kudos and thanks from the leadership at Ronald McDonald House of Galveston for its recent donation, organized by the Employee Engagement Committee.
Here’s what Dr. Carolyn Nelson-Becker, administrative director at Ronald McDonald House, had to say:
"On behalf of the Board of Directors and everyone at the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston, may I say thank you for your donation of toilet paper, soap and paper plates. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
“Our Ronald McDonald House of Galveston is very fortunate to have the support of our very caring community. We have been able to provide a ‘home-away-from-home' for literally thousands of families since we first opened our doors 34 years ago. Many of our guest families are rushed to the Galveston medical community with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and prayers in their hearts that their children will be able to receive the appropriate care once in Galveston.
“There isn’t a day that goes by when we can’t find many reasons to count our blessings. Our house is filled with hope. Hope that each family will see a better tomorrow. Hope that today’s treatment will make a difference. Hope that we will see each child live and thrive and grow to be a happy and productive adult. We see friendships form and continue through the years.
“Thank you again for being a part of our House and for making a difference in the life of a child. Please know that because of our wonderful friends, we will always be known as 'the House that love built’®”
