The House Public Health Committee met on February 10th to consider their interim charge of studying and assessing the state’s preparedness for public health threats and emergencies including responding to natural disasters and highly infectious diseases. Dr. Jim LeDuc, Director of the Galveston National Laboratory (GNL), provided an overview of the GNL and all of the cutting-edge infectious disease research that takes place there.
