The UTMB Health Institute for the Medical Humanities is pleased to share that faculty member Anne Hudson Jones, PhD presented a keynote lecture at the 2013 International Symposium on Poetry and Medicine in May 2013 in London, UK. Dr. Jones' lecture focused on "Poetry and Resilience in Medical Education and Practice".
In addition to the symposium, in July Dr. Jones participated in a seminar held at the London headquarters of one of the initiative's supporters, the Wellcome Trust. The seminar, "Witness Seminar: The Development of Narrative Practices in Medicine c. 1970-2000", was recorded and transcribed, and is available from the History of Modern Biomedicine Research Group.
