IMH Members Awarded Scholarships

The UTMB Health Institute for the Medical Humanities would like to congratulate the Institute students and faculty who were among the recipients of the 2014 UTMB Health Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) Scholarship Awards.

Kenneth Alewine was awarded the Margaret Saunders Travel Award.

Jonathan Banda was awarded a Medical Humanities Endowed Scholarship.

Alina Bennett was awarded the Harry Huntt Ransom Fellowship Award in the Medical Humanities and the William C. Levin Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence.

Peggy Determeyer was awarded the William Bennett Bean Scholarship in the Medical Humanities.

Erica Fletcher was awarded the Bohdan R. Nechay Scholarship, the Dr. David C. Eiland, Jr. Scholarship Award in Health Care and Humanities, and the Jeane B. Kempner Scholar Award.

Shannon Guillot-Wright was awarded the BSGS Associates Scholarship.

Heather Pearcey was awarded the Zelda Zinn Casper Schoarlship Award.

Nicole Piedmonte was awarded the Jason E. Perlman Research Award and the University Federal Credit Union Scholarship.

Immani Sheppard was awarded the Arthur V. Simmang Scholarship Fund Award and the Chester R. Burns Institute for the Medical Humanities Alumni Award.

Amerisa Waters was awarded the GSBS Associates Travel Award, which was presented in memory of Christina Fleischmann.

Brenda Wilson was awarded the Bohdan R. Nechay Scholarship.
