Bio-Nitza Cintrón

  • Dr. Nitza Cintron serves as a nocturnist for the department of General Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch covering the inpatient teams across the division. Before studying to be a medical doctor, Dr. Cintrón worked at NASA-JSC as a research scientist starting in 1978. She ultimately became Chief of the Space Medicine program. Dr. Cintrón remained a NASA employee while studying for her medical degree.

    Dr. Cintrón graduated from medicine with high honors. She is the recipient of a Doctorate in Science Honoris Causa from Universidad del Este, Puerto Rico, 2005, Alpha Omega Alpha member since 1993 Alpha Chapter of Texas, and AOA Visiting Professorship Gamma Chapter of Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine, Puerto Rico, 2005. Dr. Cintrón serves as Medical liaison for the Centers for Cancers of the Head and Neck.
