Rheumatology

Fellowship Overview

Our fully accredited fellowship program in Rheumatology at UTMB consists of two years of training in the subspecialty. We take one fellow each year, however, with increased numbers of faculty members, it is anticipated that one extra position will be created in the near future. The list of faculty members is found under Faculty.

The fellowship program is presently structured in such a way that the first year is all clinical, and the second year is devoted more to research. However, both fellows actively participate in all weekly clinics, conferences, quality improvement projects, and teaching sessions during both years of training.

Adjunct teaching and research faculty include physicians from Allergy & Immunology, Dermatology, Nephrology, Geriatrics, Neurology and Orthopaedics. The division is fortunate to have a full-time clinical research coordinator (CRC); she actively contributes and enhances the fellowship learning and training experience.
