IS Project Management Process

Project Discovery

    PM assigned:

  • Acknowledges/closes LanDesk request
  • Contacts customer to gather project information
  • Create a new project  in Eclipse
  • Create SharePoint project folder
  • Link SharePoint project folder to Eclipse
  • Add project resources in Eclipse


Project Charter

  • Meet with project requester/stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Define scope
  • Develop high level timeline for major milestones
  • Develop project Cost Estimate
  • Complete Project Charter and obtain sign-off


Project Development

  • Create floorplan with IT equipment needed
  • Review IT floorplan with customers/BOF PM and obtain approval for IT needs
  • Review approved IT floorplan with IS Operations teams involved in project
  • Request quotes from IS Operations teams
  • Obtain approval signatures from BOF PM/customer on quotes
  • Quote originator enters Administrative Service Request (ASR)
  • Enter Project Schedule in Eclipse and assign tasks to project team resources
  • Document Risks/Issues in Eclipse as needed


Project Delivery

  • Coordinate install dates with Desktop and AV teams
  • Submit CommIT request for voice/network services (pg. 24-36)
  • Approve CommIT requests with proper FRS (OTC & MRC) (pg. 37-41)
  • Oversee all IS project tasks have been completed
  • Complete project closeout document
  • Schedule project closeout meeting with BOF PM/customer and obtain sign-off on closeout document
  • Submit ASR request
  • Closeout project in Eclipse and move SharePoint folder to Archive Completed Projects
