A Message to Campus Web Developers: UTMB Health and Web Accessibility

As a place of healing, health education and scientific discovery, UTMB Health has a responsibility to ensure that all users can access the content it offers online.

If you are involved in web development, or manage or contribute content that goes online — including videos, forms, PDFs, presentations, images and other documents — this message is relevant to you.

We invite you to complete a quick 5-question survey about web accessibility: https://utmb.us/25u

A task force has been working for several months assessing our online presence, assembling resources and tools, and developing a communication plan. The group has outlined a strategy to enhance the accessibility of all types of content available via the university’s web sites.

In the next few weeks, we will:

  • Present our survey findings in a follow-up email
  • Schedule web accessibility training dates
  • Provide a “risk assessment” form to help you analyze your websites

We hope you will join us as we continue to ensure that all users can access UTMB Health online content. For more information, please contact Matt Havard or Pep Valdes.
