UTMB Professionalism Committee presents "Can We Talk? Addressing Poor Behavior" - May 23

The UTMB Professionalism Committee is offering several workshops entitled, Can We Talk? Addressing Poor Behavior. The third workshop is scheduled for May 23, from 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. in Rebecca Sealy 1.104/1.106. Please feel free to bring your lunch, water and chips will be provided.

The workshop employs many of the principles used by Vanderbilt's Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy for having a cup of coffee conversation. Drs. Mark Holden and Rebecca Saavedra, co-chairs of the Professionalism Committee will facilitate. Limited to 80. Registration required. Use the link below to register.

Participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the consequences of failing to address poor behavior in the workplace.
  2. Recognize the purpose and intended outcome of the “Cup of Coffee” conversation.
  3. Apply recommended techniques to stay focused on the message and respond to pushback behavior.
  4. Identify opportunities to engage in Cup of Coffee conversations to encourage personal insight and self-improvement.
