Best Care Update: UTMB Improves to 8th Place in Third Quarter Performance Report
Dr. Gulshan Sharma, chief medical and clinical innovation officer, recently sent the following Best Care Update to Health System leadership, and would like to share the news with all UTMB employees:
We have received our third-quarter performance report for the Vizient Quality & Accountability Study. I am pleased to announce that UTMB’s overall ranking has improved to 8th place among the study’s participating academic medical centers (n=107).* As shown below, we have made a significant improvement across all domains. This is a testament to everyone’s commitment to providing Best Care to our patients.
The final ranking will be available at the end of September 2017. As we close the year strong and maintain our rank, we must continue to focus on making UTMB a high-value practicing organization.
Thank you for all you do, and congratulations to all on a job well done!
*As of the third quarter, five additional academic medical centers were added to the study, increasing the total participants from 102 to 107.
