| Specimen Requirements: | Paired slides should be made. One slide placed immediately in 95% ethanol bottle and one slide air-dried placed into dry slide container. Pertinent clinical information must be included when ordering. Slides should be labeled in pencil (frosted end) with patient's full name and medical record number. |
| Collection: | After each brushing slide is prepared, residual brush material should be scraped into vial containing 2 ml of sterile saline. After final brushing, the bristle end should be snipped off the wire and placed into the vial along with the scraped material. |
