Collection:

Routine venipuncture.   EDTA (Lavender-top tube);pediatric tube acceptable. Specimens that require collection after the noon cut off on Fridays, may be collected in Streck BCT collection tubes.

EDTA (Lavender-top tube)

Storage/Transport:

Store at room temperature (18-22°C). DO NOT REFRIGERATE.

Stability:

48 Hours at Room Temperature.

Causes for Rejection:

Clotted, QNS, hemolysis, identification error, specimen refrigerated, specimens received on weekend and holidays, specimen received after noon cut off on Fridays.

By report (reports may vary based on instrumentation, patient age and sex)
