Specimen Requirements:

Routine venipuncture. EDTA (Lavender-top tube); pediatric tube acceptable


EDTA (Lavender-top tube)


Store at room temperature (18-22°C). DO NOT REFRIGERATE.


 48 hours at room temperature.

Causes for Rejection:

 Clotted, QNS, hemolysis, identification error, specimen refrigerated, specimens received on weekend and holidays, specimen received after noon cut off on Fridays.

Samples are accepted in Sample Management, Monday-Thursday (8AM-5PM). Friday cut-off time is noon.

Aids in the monitoring of B-cells in patients.
