COCAINE SCREEN, urine (See specific drug panel)
Test Mnemonic:

DRG2 U, DRG4 ER, or DRG5 L&D

Specimen Requirements:

Random urine in plastic urine container with no additives.  Supervised collection required if chain of custody collection requested. (Min.: 3 mL of urine).


Room temperature if delivered to Sample Management within 1 hours of collection, or refrigerated if > 1 hours.   

Specimen Preparation:

Refrigerate specimen within 1 hour of collection.


Refrigerated for ≤ 7 days.

Causes for Rejection:

Specimen collected in container with a preservative, incomplete and/or incorrect sample identification, and improper storage/transport.                                               

Reference Range:

By report (reports may vary based on instrumentation, patient age and sex)

Turnaround Time:

STAT: 1 hour, Routine: 8 hours; ASAP: 4 hours

The diagnostic information must substantiate all tests ordered and must be in the form of an ICD-10 code or its verbal equivalent.
