Test Mnemonic:


Specimen Requirements:

3 mL Lavender topped tube (EDTA) ; Collect trough level 12-18 hours after oral dose for chronic usage, 12 hours after intravenous dose, or immediately prior to next dose. (Min: 200 uL).


Deliver specimen to Sample Management after collection. 

Specimen Preparation:

Do not centrifuge specimen.


Refrigerated for ≤ 7 days.

Causes for Rejection:

Incorrect vacutainer tube, clotted sample, incomplete and/or incorrect sample identification, improper storage/transport.  

Reference Range:

By report (reports may vary based on instrumentation, patient age and sex)

Turnaround Time:

Daily: 7am – 3:00 pm
