for the 2023-2025 cycle!
Description:
- 2-year fellowship program accredited through the American College of Surgeons Accredited Education Institutes (ACS-AEI), with a fellowship start date July 1st, 2023
- On-site at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) through the Department of Surgery’s accredited ACS-AEI surgical simulation center known as the Sealy & Smith Laboratory for Surgical Training, Assessment & Research
(LSTAR)
Application Information:
- Applications will be reviewed, and an applicant will be selected by a Selection Panel set forth in our accreditation guidelines
- No applications past December 31st, 2022 will be accepted, but an applicant may be chosen prior to this date
- The chosen applicant will be notified no later than January 31st, 2023
Minimum Requirements to Apply:
- 1-page statement of interest (career goals, reasons for completing a surgical simulation fellowship, etc.)
- 3 Letters of recommendation (at least one from the current chairman or program director at the time of application)
- Proof of graduation from medical school
- All USMLE STEP scores to date
- All ABSITE scores to date
- Up to date CV
- Documentation of medical licensure
- Completion of at least 2 years of a surgical residency program (General Surgery preferred)
