IS-Ops Project Management Process


The PM assigned:

  • Acknowledges/closes LanDesk request
  • Contacts customer to gather project information
  • Creates a new project in Eclipse
  • Creates SharePoint project folder
  • Links SharePoint project folder to Eclipse
  • Adds project resources in Eclipse
  • Meets with project requester/stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Defines scope
  • Develops high level timeline for major milestones
  • Develops project Cost Estimate
  • Completes Project Charter and obtains sign-off
  • Creates floorplan with IT equipment needed
  • Reviews IT floorplan with customers/BOF PM and obtains approval for IT needs
  • Reviews approved IT floor plan with IS Operations teams involved in project
  • Requests quotes from IS Operations teams
  • Obtains approval signatures from BOF PM/customer on quotes
  • Quotes originator enters Administrative Service Request (ASR)
  • Enters Project Schedule in Eclipse and assigns tasks to project team resources
  • Documents Risks/Issues and in Eclipse as needed
  • Coordinates install dates with Desktop and AV teams
  • Submits CommIT request for voice/network services (pg. 24-36)
  • Approves CommIT requests with proper FRS (OTC & MRC) (pg. 37-41)
  • Oversees all IS project tasks have been completed
  • Completes project closeout document
  • Schedules project closeout meeting with BOF PM/customer and obtains sign-off on closeout document
  • Submits ASR request
  • Closes out project in Eclipse and moves SharePoint folder to Archive Completed Projects
