This course is presented by the University of Texas Medical Branch Department of Pediatrics and the Office of Continuing Medical Education.

This educational activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse  practitioners, and nurses who care for infants, children, and adolescents.

 

COURSE OVERVIEW/METHODOLOGY

This course is designed to address the challenges faced in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions of infants, children, and adolescents. It will provide participants with a maximal learning experience through lectures, interspersed with question and answer sessions, panel discussions, and workshops of specific interest. Participants will complete an online evaluation after the course.

The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston designates this live activity for a maximum of 12AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Ethics credit is available.

In accordance with the ACCME standards, presenters are asked to indicate if they have any relationships in which, in the context of their presentation, could be perceived as real or apparent conflict of interest (e.g., ownership). Any such relationship will be disclosed to the audience.

MOC

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 12 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

Human Trafficking Prevention Requirement Course is available.  This course is approved by Texas Health and Human Services to meet the requirements of H.B. 2059.
