Salmon patches (aka nevus flammeus or angel kiss (forehead) or stork bite (nape of neck))
A salmon patch presents as a light-red macule most commonly located on the nape of the neck, as well as upper eyelids, glabella, nose and upper lip. It is a midline capillary malformation. A salmon patch is a very common birthmark and frequently in white (70%) and black (60%) infants with equal distribution between males and females. Usually, salmon patches fade with time with eyelid lesions fading by 6 to 12 months and glabellar lesions by 5 to 6 years of age. Lesions on the nape of the neck are much more likely to persist into adulthood.
