OBJECTIVES
At the end of this presentation, the practitioner will be able to:
- Apply the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria to diagnose ADHD
- Develop a differential diagnoses for hyperactivity
- Analyze the potential effects and side effects of various pharmacologic treatment options for ADHD
- Select pharmacotherapy for a child diagnosed with ADHD
- Develop a comprehensive approach to management of ADHD, including non-pharmacologic interventions
Identify sources of additional support for children and their families who have simple and complex conditions affecting behavior
