A week later, plans are nearing completion for Brian’s discharge. Durable medical equipment has been arranged, and will be delivered to Brian’s home. The Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists have referred Brain to the local Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECI) for developmental services. This is a free service in the home for children 0-3 years of age who are developmentally delayed or at risk for developmental delay. Arrangements have been made for Brian to return to the University in 2 months for follow-up.
