Howdy!

I spent half of my life wanting to be a doctor and the other half wanting to be an architect.

At first sight you would think that medicine and architecture have little in common. Actually, they are very similar. John Lautner once said that the purpose of architecture is to improve human life - which is also the purpose of medicine. So you see, they do go hand in hand: they both are meant to build something that will last forever.

Well, it's pretty evident which one of the two career paths eventually won the challenge. Interestingly enough - I found time for a 7-years threat assessment/executive protection career in between the two. Yep, confused, confusional, confusing... that's just me being me - absolute chaos.

At some point Pathology stepped in, to give some direction to my inner chaos - I found my 'call' in autopsy pathology and clinical research, and somehow never looked back. Oh well, I still question where exactly I am going with my life, about one hundred times a day, but again, that's just me - always questioning everything. After all, this is Pathology: questioning comes with the territory - we ask questions and we look for evidence. Sometimes we even find answers, isn't that the most exciting career of all?

Behind the outside shell, the 'dream architect' is still alive, and tries to claim some of the (rare) free time for the hobby of architectural photography. I enjoy taking picture of residential and commercial buildings, construction sites, and petrochemical plants. When I am not at work in the hospital, you will probably find me standing somewhere in front of a building with a view camera, working on the perfect picture - or hidden in my garage-improvised darkroom printing photographs the old-fashioned way. Someday I may even decide to participate in some art expo, who knows.

By the way, for those who wonder about my accent (cannot say a convincing y'all yet), I was born and raised in Italy - and believe it or not, I really can cook!
