While learning the role and adjusting to a non-surgical schedule, I obtained my doctoral degree in Health Care Science form Nova Southeastern University in Florida. My area of interest and study is Health Care Policy.
I hold a faculty appointment in the School Health Professions and teach several didactic classes in the PA program and I facilitate in the SOM Great Syndromes course. I am currently the Clinical Rotation Coordinator for the Surgery, ER, and Surgery Elective PA clinical rotations.
I also hold the title of Manager, Patient Affairs, an office that facilitates access to care, hears complaints and generally assists anyone with almost anything having to do with patient care at UTMB.
I maintain my clinical skills, hospital privileges and license because I love caring for patients. My supervising physician and I try to see as many patients as we can, given busy schedules. I enjoy all of these roles very much and look forward to learning a great deal from the ADAPT group.
