Introduction

Ms. Jones has come to your office for her annual check-up. Your staff shows her to the exam room and she sits in the room to wait for you. Your nurse comes in first and asks her a few questions. Then she takes Ms. Jones' blood pressure with the blood pressure machine in the room. She records it to be 140/85.

You have a medical student working with you this month and you ask the student to go into the room and take a brief history and check her blood pressure. The student talks to Mrs. Jones and takes her blood pressure using her own sphygmomanometer. She records the pressure to be 155/90.

You enter the room and greet Ms. Jones who is one of your long time patients. As you talk to her you take her blood pressure again with the machine in the room. You get a reading of 135/80.
